Xiaomi Releases MK71 Pro Mechanical Keyboard Harry Potter Edition with Themed Keycaps and Tri-Mode Connectivity
Xiaomi has released a new version of its MK71 Pro mechanical keyboard, this time with a Harry Potter-themed design. The keyboard keeps the same hardware as the standard MK71 Pro but adds custom styling based on the popular book and film series.
The main difference is the appearance. This edition uses themed keycaps with magical elements, a custom metal nameplate, and a glowing backlight effect. It also features a 1-inch LCD screen that shows the connection mode, battery level, and time. The keyboard comes in two color choices: Glacier and Moon Rock.
It has a 71-key layout, which is more compact than a full-size keyboard but still keeps the standard key spacing. The keyboard uses a GASKET structure and PORON material to reduce noise and improve comfort during typing. Inside, it uses Xiaomi’s first-generation linear mechanical switches, developed in partnership with TTC. These switches are designed to feel smooth and quiet.
Large keys like the space bar and shift key are supported by satellite switches, which are adjusted and lubricated by hand. This helps keep a stable and even feel across the entire key, whether pressed in the center or on the edge.
The keyboard supports hot-swappable switches, meaning users can change out the mechanical switches without soldering. This feature is useful for people who like to customize their typing experience or try out different switch types.
It also supports three connection modes: wired (USB-C), Bluetooth, and a 2.4GHz wireless option. The wired and 2.4GHz connections are designed to offer low-latency performance. A receiver and extension cable are included to help improve wireless stability, especially in 2.4GHz mode.
Battery life is another key feature. The MK71 Pro Harry Potter Edition comes with a 7800mAh battery. When using the backlight in streamer mode, it can last up to 70 hours. In dark mode, it can last around 140 hours on a single charge. The LCD screen helps manage settings more easily without needing extra software.
On Windows, the keyboard supports driver software that allows users to remap keys and adjust layouts. This can be useful for different workflows, games, or personal preferences.
With its themed design, solid build, and flexible features, the MK71 Pro Harry Potter Edition offers a compact keyboard option for fans of the series and mechanical keyboard users who want something a bit different in appearance but familiar in function.
