Lofree Launched the Hypace: The World's First Built-On-Frame Ultralight Gaming Mouse
Lofree has officially introduced the Hypace, a revolutionary ultralight gaming mouse that combines a magnesium alloy frame with a polycarbonate (PC) cover structure. This unique design achieves an impressive weight of just 47±2 grams without relying on the perforated shell commonly seen in ultra-lightweight gaming mice. According to Lofree, the Hypace is the first gaming mouse in the industry to feature such a structural innovation, setting a new benchmark for lightweight gaming peripherals.
Innovative Design and Ergonomics
The Lofree Hypace draws inspiration from Logitech’s GPW series in terms of external mold design. It measures 124.41mm in length, 62.7mm in width, and 37.94mm in height, making it an ideal choice for users with small to medium-sized hands. The solid frame, in combination with the PC cover, ensures a balanced feel, offering the durability of a solid-body mouse while maintaining the weight advantage of a perforated shell.
This ergonomic approach is expected to provide gamers with an enhanced grip experience without compromising on the structural integrity of the device. The magnesium alloy frame also plays a crucial role in reinforcing durability while keeping the overall weight competitive.
Cutting-Edge Hardware and Sensor Technology
At the heart of the Lofree Hypace is the Pixar PAW3950 optical sensor, an advanced component designed to meet the needs of high-performance gaming. The sensor supports a maximum sensitivity of 40,000 CPI (when overclocked), allowing for precise tracking and rapid movement across different surfaces.
Complementing the sensor are Kailh White Blade gold-plated micro switches, which boast a lifespan of up to 100 million clicks. These switches ensure a tactile and responsive click experience, making them ideal for both competitive gaming and everyday use. The Hypace also features a Nordic master control unit, which optimizes the overall performance and connectivity stability.
Connectivity and Performance
The Lofree Hypace gaming mouse supports three modes of connectivity:
- Wired via USB-C
- Wireless 2.4GHz
- Bluetooth (TBD if supported in the final release)
Notably, both the wired and 2.4GHz wireless modes support an 8,000Hz (8KHz) polling rate, ensuring ultra-responsive performance with minimal latency. The high polling rate makes the Hypace a suitable choice for competitive esports players who demand the lowest possible input lag.
Battery Life and Power Efficiency
The Hypace is powered by a 250mAh lithium polymer battery. When operating in wireless 2.4GHz mode with the 8KHz polling rate enabled, the mouse offers up to 17 hours of continuous usage. For users who prioritize battery longevity over maximum polling rates, switching to a 1,000Hz (1KHz) polling rate extends battery life significantly, offering up to 80 hours of playtime.
Pricing and Availability
Lofree has launched the Hypace through a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, with an introductory price of $109 USD. The company’s official website states that the product is expected to hit the market between April and May 2025.
With its innovative structural design, premium components, and high-performance sensor, the Lofree Hypace is shaping up to be a compelling option in the competitive gaming mouse market. Whether it will successfully carve out a niche against established brands like Logitech and Razer remains to be seen, but its unique approach to lightweight design certainly makes it one to watch.
