Keychron Introduces B5 Pro, B4 Pro, and B3 Pro Ultra-Thin Keyboards
Keychron has officially launched three new ultra-thin keyboards that bring a fresh design approach with round keycaps and scissor-switch mechanisms. The new lineup includes the B5 Pro, B4 Pro, and B3 Pro models, each offering a distinct layout option to meet various workspace and user needs. These additions provide an alternative to the company’s existing mechanical keyboard range, focusing on portability, low-profile design, and versatility.
The Keychron B5 Pro features a 100% layout with 112 keys, offering a complete set of function keys, a numeric keypad, and dedicated navigation buttons. The B4 Pro adopts a 96% layout with 100 keys, maintaining most of the functionality of a full-size keyboard but within a smaller frame. The B3 Pro, the most compact of the trio, carries a 75% layout with 79 keys, making it suitable for users who prefer a smaller desktop footprint or need a keyboard that can easily fit in a travel setup.
All three models are made entirely of ABS material, giving them a consistent lightweight structure. They do not include backlighting, focusing instead on energy efficiency and simplicity. Powering these keyboards is an 800mAh built-in battery, capable of lasting up to 300 hours on a single charge. The extended battery life complements their wireless operation, reducing the need for frequent recharging and enhancing mobility.
Connectivity is a central feature of the new series, with tri-mode support covering USB-C wired, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth 5.2 connections. This ensures compatibility with a range of devices and platforms, including Windows, macOS, and mobile systems. Switching between multiple devices is seamless, catering to users who operate across different environments throughout the day.
Keychron has also integrated useful functional shortcuts into these keyboards. The Mac and Windows layouts can be toggled easily, while a built-in emoji panel can be accessed via the fn + shift combination, offering quick access to emojis for communication and social applications. Additionally, users can customize key inputs through the Keychron Launcher web browser tool, which allows remapping without installing extra software.
The B4 Pro and B3 Pro models include half-height left and right arrow keys to optimize space efficiency without compromising usability. This design approach contributes to their compact nature, making them practical for limited desk setups or portable use.
In terms of pricing, the B5 Pro and B4 Pro are listed at $39.99 each, while the smaller B3 Pro carries a price tag of $34.99.
