Keychron Introduces Q2 HE 8K 65% Analog Keyboard With 8,000 Hz Polling Rate
Keychron has expanded its Q series analog gaming keyboards with the introduction of the Q2 HE 8K, a 65% version of the earlier Q1 HE 8K. The keyboard retains the premium aluminium chassis and gasket mount design of the larger models. It also features Keychron’s OSA profile double-shot PBT keycaps, offering a slightly different look compared to standard Cherry or OEM profiles.
The Q2 HE 8K is equipped with Keychron’s Ultra-Fast Lime Magnetic switches. These are lightweight, short-throw magnetic switches with 35 gf actuation force and 3.35 mm total travel. The keyboard includes an updated controller capable of delivering an 8,000 Hz polling rate, which provides reduced latency for gaming and input responsiveness. To achieve this higher polling rate, the wireless functionality seen in previous HE series keyboards has been removed. Updated sensors make the Q2 HE 8K compatible with a wider range of magnetic switches, instead of being limited to the south-pole Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic switches used in earlier models.
The keyboard is available directly from Keychron for $229.99 and comes in both black and white color options, each with purple accents on the enter and escape keys and CNC-machined aluminium knobs. The 65% layout is slightly modified compared to standard 65% keyboards. It includes only two navigation keys to the right of the alpha cluster and features extra spacing between the arrow keys and navigation column to accommodate the knob and create an exploded layout.
Keychron Launcher allows full customization of the Q2 HE 8K. Users can adjust analog features such as Rapid Trigger, SOCD, Snap Tap, controller emulation, and Mod Tap. Traditional mechanical keyboard options are also supported, including macro recording, layer setup, key remapping, and adjustable actuation points ranging from 0.01 mm to 3.35 mm, with a minimum sensitivity of 0.001 mm.
The Q2 HE 8K combines compact design with high-speed input features, making it suitable for both gaming and productivity. Its combination of aluminium construction, magnetic switches, and extensive customization options positions it as a versatile choice for users seeking a responsive and configurable 65% keyboard.
