Logitech Prepares Solar-Powered Signature Slim Solar Plus Keyboard as Lenovo Delays Launch

In early 2025, Lenovo announced a Bluetooth keyboard powered by photovoltaic cells, with a planned release in May for $69.99. The product was marketed as a self-charging keyboard designed to reduce reliance on USB charging. However, more than six months later, Lenovo’s model has not reached stores, and the company has only begun sharing teaser material through official channels.

While Lenovo’s solar-powered keyboard remains absent from the market, Logitech appears ready to bring its own alternative. According to information shared by Roland Quandt, Logitech is preparing to introduce the Signature Slim Solar Plus, a wireless keyboard that integrates solar charging technology. This product is expected to serve as a successor to the Wireless Solar Keyboard K750, which has been on the market for several years.

The Signature Slim Solar Plus resembles the company’s existing MX Keys S, a model currently available for $119.99. The new keyboard reportedly features a solar panel along the top edge while retaining the same general design and layout. Dimensions are said to be 430.8 x 142.9 mm with a rear thickness of 20.2 mm, placing it in the full-sized category. The layout includes a number pad, dedicated media controls, and arrow keys split into three clusters, aimed at productivity and office use.

Logitech’s keyboard is also expected to support Easy Switch functionality, which allows users to connect up to three devices simultaneously and toggle between them using dedicated keys. Operating system compatibility is wide-ranging, covering Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, and Android. This cross-platform support aligns with Logitech’s broader strategy of offering peripherals that work across multiple devices.

Another notable aspect of the reported specifications is long-term battery performance. Sources claim the keyboard could last up to 10 years without requiring a replacement, thanks to the combination of solar charging and low-power components. While this figure is not officially confirmed, it suggests an emphasis on durability and reduced maintenance.

The Signature Slim Solar Plus is expected to launch in a Graphite finish at a price of approximately €129 in Europe. However, the release timeline remains unclear. Logitech has not yet made an official announcement, and the product has not appeared on retail listings.

If the report proves accurate, Logitech’s move signals renewed interest in solar-powered peripherals, with the company offering an update to its K750 keyboard while addressing modern demands for energy-efficient devices. At the same time, Lenovo’s ongoing delays create an opening for Logitech to establish its product in the market first.
