Machenike Unveils Lancer68 Pro Magnetic Switch Keyboard

Machenike has officially announced the upcoming launch of its latest keyboard, the Lancer68 Pro, featuring Magnetic Switch technology. This addition marks the brand’s entry into the growing market of magnetic switch mechanical keyboards, a segment that has gained significant traction since early 2024.

The Lancer68 Pro continues the trend of compact 65% keyboard layouts, designed for users who want a balance between space-saving form and functional key access. However, what sets the Lancer68 Pro apart is its internal switch architecture, built on Magnetic Switch technology, rather than the conventional mechanical switches that have been widely used for over a decade.

Unlike traditional mechanical switches, which rely on metal contact leaves to register a keypress, Magnetic Switches function based on the Hall effect. Inside each switch is a magnet, a Hall sensor, a spring, and a housing structure. As the key is pressed, the magnet moves closer to the Hall sensor, changing the magnetic field. Once this change crosses a pre-set voltage threshold, the keypress is registered by the system.

This design allows for a new level of adjustability. With software control, users can modify the actuation point—the exact distance at which the key registers a press—according to their personal preference. Some may choose a shorter travel for faster input, especially in gaming scenarios, while others may opt for a deeper press for better typing feedback. Key travel customization is also possible through the same software suite.

Machenike’s decision to adopt Magnetic Switches aligns with the increasing demand for keyboards that offer both responsiveness and flexibility. As more gamers and professionals seek precision and control in their input devices, Magnetic Switch technology offers a distinct alternative. It enables smoother key activation, as there are no physical contact points that wear out or introduce debounce delay, common in traditional designs.

The Lancer68 Pro will also include typical features expected in a high-end keyboard in 2025, such as RGB backlighting, onboard memory profiles, and hot-swappable switch support. While pricing and release date details are yet to be shared, Machenike confirmed that the Lancer68 Pro will be showcased in upcoming product events this quarter.

With Magnetic Switches moving beyond niche status, more manufacturers are entering the space, aiming to offer users a tailored typing and gaming experience. The Lancer68 Pro adds to that growing list and signals Machenike’s push into advanced input hardware, potentially setting the stage for future products in its peripheral lineup.
