Keychron Launches K3 HE and K3 Ultra Low-Profile Wireless Keyboards on February 12
Keychron has announced two new low-profile wireless keyboards, the K3 HE and K3 Ultra, both set to launch on February 12. The new models continue the company’s recent design trends, combining slim profiles with features aimed at both productivity and gaming users. Each keyboard includes wood accent details and a metal frame, maintaining Keychron’s approach to lightweight yet durable construction.
The K3 HE builds on the design of the earlier HE models and uses Lime low-profile Hall effect magnetic switches. These switches allow users to customize actuation points, trigger and reset behavior, and configure multi-action or analog inputs. The K3 HE is also compatible with third-party low-profile Hall effect switches, including Gateron Magnetic Jade Pro and TTC KOM. This gives users flexibility without locking them into a fully proprietary ecosystem.

The K3 Ultra, on the other hand, employs pre-lubed low-profile Milk POM mechanical switches. With an 8,000 Hz polling rate, the K3 Ultra can achieve input latency as low as 0.125 ms, which makes it suitable for competitive gaming where quick response times are important. Both keyboards run on ZMK firmware and are rated for up to 550 hours of battery life in 2.4 GHz wireless mode, providing extended use without frequent recharging.
Both keyboards emphasize portability and convenience. They feature an ABS bottom case with a metal and wood frame similar to Keychron’s previous HE Special Edition models. Users can choose between black or white finishes, offering options to match their workspace or gaming setup.

Keychron’s K3 HE and K3 Ultra keyboards aim to combine compact design with advanced switch technology, making them suitable for users who want low-profile keyboards that support both work and gaming. Pre-orders are expected to begin shortly ahead of the February 12 release.
