This is a compact 75% TKL keyboard designed primarily to enhance your typing/gaming experience with its solid aluminum alloy chassis, Multiple structure compatibility (Gasket/Top), and dynamic RGB lighting. JamesDonkey R4 brings CNC-machined aluminum alloy frame with dual-tone injection-molded PBT material keycaps. The keyboard has a solid build. JamesDonkey has got years of expertise in designing premium quality mechanical keyboards. Using that expertise, the latest JamesDonkey R4 packs a solid build with CNC-Machined 6063 series aluminum alloy material. The keyboard frame is then anodized for a rich, textured finish. JamesDonkey R4 has got this geometrical triangular counterweight as well that is made in a contrasting color. This counterweight not only adds a charming look to the keyboard, but also provides a stable base while typing. The keyboard itself has a 75% compact TKL layout with 81-keys arrangement and an aluminum alloy volume knob.
One big feature on the JamesDonkey R4 would be the multiple structure compatibility. The R4 is compatible with different internal structures including Gasket and Top-Mounted. Users can change this at will using silicone sleeves, Silicone Sleeve Strips, and Silicone beans that come with the keyboard. There are a total of three mounting styles supported by the keyboard, each style has its own features, providing a unique experience while typing.
JamesDonkey R4 comes equipped with custom-developed Latte switches. They offer silky smooth typing feedback. The R4 also has hot-swappable sockets, allowing the users to replace the switches easily. As for acoustics, the keyboard houses a five-layered internal padding including Poron Sandwich cotton, IXPE undershaft padding, PET voice padding, EPDM shaft seat padding, and PET bottom padding. This five-layered padding fills the empty spaces inside the keyboard cavity and effectively reduces tapping sound ensuring a comfortable and silent typing feedback. JamesDonkey R4 keyboard supports low-latency connectivity offering a response time of approximately 2ms. This greatly reduces the input response and ensures perfect trigger input with no sense of delay. It supports wireless 2.4G, wireless Bluetooth, and wired USB connection modes.
JamesDonkey R4 keyboard features dynamic RGB lighting. The keyboard has south-facing RGB LEDs and RGB strip as well. It supports over 22 different lighting effects allowing the users to customize their experience with the keyboard. With a self-developed web-based driver software, users can adjust different settings and function on the R4. The keyboard is QMK compatible, and this driver allows for easy key-mapping.
