Keychron Launched the Q1 HE Copper Edition With a Solid Copper Build and Upgraded Design
Keychron has expanded its premium keyboard portfolio with the launch of the Q1 HE Copper Edition, a model that places a strong focus on material construction and long-term durability. Following the ceramic Q16 HE 8K that arrived in September, this new edition continues the company’s recent direction of experimenting with unconventional materials to offer keyboards that differ in weight, feel, and overall presentation.
The Q1 HE Copper Edition uses solid copper for both the top and bottom shells, giving the board a noticeably heavier profile than previous versions. With a total weight of 4kg, the new model stands in contrast to the standard aluminum Q1 HE, which weighs 1.735kg. This increase in weight not only alters the physical presence of the keyboard but also reflects the dense and rigid structure offered by copper. Keychron has priced the Copper Edition at $499.99, positioning it as a high-end option for users who value robust construction and a premium layout.

The keyboard follows a tenkeyless (TKL) design, providing a compact footprint while keeping essential keys accessible for both professional and everyday workflows. It comes equipped with Gateron Nebula switches that feature a dual-rail design aimed at improving key stability during repeated use. The switches are paired with high-profile dye-sublimated PBT keycaps. These keycaps carry a metallic-inspired finish that visually aligns with the copper chassis, giving the keyboard a unified and cohesive appearance.

Keychron has included several upgrades to refine the build and typing feel. The Q1 HE Copper Edition incorporates a double-gasket mounting system supported by an aluminum alloy positioning plate. This structure is designed to reduce vibrations and help maintain a controlled typing response. Multiple layers of sound-damping materials have also been added inside the case to limit unwanted acoustic resonance. Additionally, users can replace switches through the hot-swappable sockets without soldering, making it easier to customize the typing experience. South-facing RGB lighting is included for improved compatibility with a wider range of keycaps.

Connectivity options cover the three major modes: wired, Bluetooth, and 2.4GHz wireless. The wireless modes operate with a polling rate of up to 1000Hz, enabling rapid input transmission suitable for productivity and general use. A 4000mAh battery powers the keyboard and can deliver up to 100 hours of use depending on lighting conditions and workload, reducing the need for frequent charging cycles.
The Q1 HE Copper Edition highlights Keychron’s continued effort to introduce heavier, more durable materials into its product line. By combining solid copper construction, modern connectivity options, and refined internal components, the new model is positioned as a reliable choice for enthusiasts and professionals looking for a long-lasting mechanical keyboard with a distinct design approach.
